Characteristics of the Ragdoll breed

Ragdoll is a large, well-muscled cat with a semi-long silky coat that is longer around the collar and on the tail. The coat of the Ragdoll is fine. The Ragdoll has a powerful body, short neck and full, well-built chest. The hind legs are well muscled and higher than the front legs. Ragdolls have round paws and tufts of hair between the toes. The head is wedge-shaped, medium-sized and has well-developed cheeks and a strong chin. The ears are medium sized and have rounded tips. The nose is slightly bent. Ragdoll has beautiful blue eyes that are large and oval. The tail is well furred and its length is in proportion to the size of the body.

For Ragdolls we recognise the following basic colours:

Blue

Colorpoint - Rag a
Mitted - Rag a 04
Bicolor - Rag a 03
The body is bluish-white in a cool shade of colour, the colour lightens towards the belly and chest, the badges are deep dark grey with a bluish tinge. The nose and paw pads are slate grey - the intensity of colour saturation is individual. The colour blue is a diluted seal colour (in the genetic code it is marked with a capital BB and two dilution genes dd).

Seal
Colorpoint - Rag n
Mitted - Rag n 04
Bicolor - Rag n 03
The body is light brown, the colour lightens towards the belly and chest, the badges are deep black-brown to black. The nose and pads on the paws are dark black-brown. The seal colour is the so-called solid colour (in the genetic code it is marked with capital letters BB, dilution genes are either absent - DD, or it has at most one - Dd).

Chocolate
Colorpoint - Rag b
Mitted - Rag b 04
Bicolor - Rag b 03
The body is ivory white, the colour lightens towards the belly and chest, the badges are in a warm milk chocolate tone, there is no shade to black or black-brown anywhere on the body. The nose and pads on the paws are cinnamon brown with a hint of pink - the intensity of colour saturation is individual. Chocolate colour is a solid colour (in the genetic code it is marked with two small letters bb, dilution genes are either absent - DD, or have maximum one - Dd).

Lilac
Colorpoint - Rag c
Mitted - Rag c 04
Bicolor - Rag c 03
The body is warm white with a pink tinge, the colour lightens towards the belly and chest, the badges are ice grey with a pink tinge. The nose and paw pads are lavender - the intensity of the colour saturation is individual. The colour lilac is a diluted chocolate colour (in the genetic code it is marked with two small letters bb, and always two diluting genes dd).

Red
Colorpoint - Rag d
Mitted - Rag d 04
Bicolor - Rag d 03
The body is pure white, with a hint of badges in places. The badges are red in a sharp carrot colour - saturation of colour preferred. The nose and pads on the paws are coral red - the intensity of colour saturation is individual. The colour red is called solid colour and is marked with the letter O in the genetic record.

Cream
Colorpoint - Rag e
Mitted - Rag e 04
Bicolor - Rag e 03
The body is pure white, with a hint of badge colour in places. The badges are light cream red - the colour is not sharp, saturation of colour is preferred. Nose and pads on paws are light coral red - intensity of colour saturation is individual. The cream colour is the so-called diluted colour (in the genetic code it is marked with capital O).

All these colours can also be in lynx and tortie.

Varieties:
Colorpoint
(genetic code ss) - monochrome coat with dark markings (paws, nose, ears and tail).

Mitted

(genetic code S2s) - similar to colorpoint, but with white paws and belly. The white coat must extend without interruption from the chin to the genitals.
